Shimano brake lever/caliper compatibility

Are all Shimano brake levers compatible with all the Shimano range of hydraulic brake calipers?
I want a set of these M575 levers in white, but I'm undecided on which calipers to use yet.

according to the shimano site yes they are."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Get the Yumeya hose because it's white? Hmmmmm... I'll have to have a think. My frame is white too.. might be too much white? Then again, a white hose would hide itself against the frame... It might look cluttered around the 'bars though?
I'm also wavering on the white or black calipers, and that XTR rear caliper (in black) for only 30 quid at CRC doesn't help my decision making! I can't get a front for anything like that price
Also, a mate has offered me his LX brake setup with dual controls for 60 quid. Good deal you think? Calipers are silver though, of course
Here's my build so far.. 'bars and stem are temporary. I have a white Kore stem on the way, and will be fitting those blue 'bars in the background. 8)0 -
