I wouldn't buy one. Raleigh aren't the bikes they used to be. At that price there are far better equipped machines. 105 on a fairly generic frame for £1250 isn't that great a deal. A Focus Cayo with 105 for instance is a whopping £400 less and a Planet X with Ultegra is only £1000.
Nothing wrong with 105 of course, but at that price and equipment I'd want a better frame (and I wouldn't get hung up on carbon either). If you're stuck using Evans then this looks a bit better. Here's another, and if you can get past the lure of carbon this would be worth upgrading over time.0 -
thanks for your help.basically i agree with you. but the price is lower than Evans from wiggle about £974.99. I compared this vs focus cayo 105,and then i got a conclusion that maybe Raleigh`s frame is better than foucs. So,what do you think? or has other good suggestions?
many thanks0 -
Raleigh looks a nice enough bike - I seen one up at stoke the other week and it really looked the business. However as system as said if you aren't tied to evans , I would go with the planet x - and maybe upgrade the wheels.
Also that Pinarello that system points out- is worth a serious look. I have the equivalent Pinarello, about 8 years old - and I can tell you it is one seriously stiff and fast frame - the acceleration on it is awesome, it really is something else. I ve just brought a kuota kharma, but for sheer stiffness and acceleration the pinarello wins, its not like riding a normal bike at all. OK the groupset is a couple of steps down, however I ride a sora decathlon bike to work every day, and I can't fault it.
Don't like fuji's myself.
There ....you more confused than ever now !0 -

This is the next model up, it uses the same frame but uses Ultegra SL groupset.
The reviewer seems to like it, and i'm looking a getting one. Try to find a local dealer and have a look at one. If you like the bike and the way it rides then its your money.0
