my front mech broke today on my litespeed it is a 105 band on mech.
the question is do i replace it with 105 or upgrade

personally i'd go for the upgrade unless your sticking to a budget,
the price between a 105 front mech and a 6700 ultegra one is only £13 on wiggle. Or even less if you get one of the ultegra SL ones.
if something breaks on my bike i tend to go for an upgrade as a rule of thumb. not much has broken yet

Upgrade if you want a bit of bling and a few less grams, but otherwise there is no difference. I've used all standards of front mech from budget to top-end and they all do everything just the same, you can't tell the difference when you flick the shifter.0

just took the bike in to my lbs and they're replacing it under warrenty so i think a 105 mech is going back on0
