Hi,

Coming back to cycling after many years out and thinking about buying a Lapierre s lite 300. Anybody got one and what do they think about it. Evans offering it for 1500 at the moment which is a great price for an Ultegra equipped carbon bike.

Thanks

Mike

I asked a similar question a few days ago about the x-lite / xelium 700, but got no replies - Lapierre bikes are not very well known yet in the UK and not many people have them, but by all accounts they are high quality and from a long established French brand. My guess is that they are quite good value because the brand are still trying to establish their image.

Looking at the specs of the s-lite it seems to be more of a "sportive" frame than the x-lite, with a slightly more upright, less stretched out position. Try to get a test ride, and if you haven't ridden recently also test ride some other bikes for comparison.
  • Have seen the bike in my LBS. Very nice and as you say, great bang for your buck.

I happen to have a Lappierre Mountain Bike and to be frank, if the road kit is the same, then you will get a great bike for your money. I really cant fault my Mountain Bike, which is the £2k Zesty 314.

They have been making bikes for a long time too and certainly not a box shifter.
