Jersey advice?

Hi, looking for advice on a jersey purchase, time to ditch the gore basic one I've got and get a cool race fit one (with a zip pocket)
Can anyone reccomend a decent brand or specific jersey? Like the sound of the foreign ones, which are best?
Cheers!

Hi,
Santini are a great brand. Try looking on www.prendas.co.uk.
They have a mix on current pro team, retro team and non-team stuff.
Mick & Andy are great for helping you get the right size as well.0 -
There are so so many...
Have a browse on sites like Always Riding, Wiggle, Chain Reaction Cycles and Pro Bike Kit and see what takes your fancy to start with and then go from there.0 -

Best one with a zip/waterproof pocket I've used that is race fit is Assos.
Rapha are fab too, they come with a pump sleeve in the rear middle pocket as well as having a zip waterproof pocket
Only downer is the price.0 -
Solo classique jerseys are the best looking to me and considerably less expensive than Assos. the zipped pocket isn't huge though and you have to like the retro/60s/70s themes - which I do. Think they are 66 pounds a pop though so still not bargain nasement but very well made.God made the Earth. The Dutch made The Netherlands

They look great them there solo ones but not race fit as the OP wanted...0

Hahaha, The pictures on the website are of some super skinny guys wearing sizes too large. My solo jerseys are definitely race fit - though I am rather triangular in the upper body.God made the Earth. The Dutch made The Netherlands

When I say race fit I mean longer at the back than the front. I assume that's what the OP meant...0

hang-on. I'll check.....
Nope definitely a good few inches longer at the back than the front.
Now, does my arse look big in this?God made the Earth. The Dutch made The Netherlands

Roger, looks good for the mahunnie then!
Do like the designs.0 -
Assos SI13 - everytime I put it on it makes me want to lose weight :P0

Thanks for the replies. The solo jersey look pretty cool.
When I say race fit I meant fitted rather than loose. I'm a new roadie so not too sure on all the right terminology yet!0 -

My fave at the mo is a 'coolmax lusso' one. Handmade in the uk
I like it because i'm a gangly kinda guy with a slightly out of proportion large neck, this jersey snugly fits my arms without strangling me so that's why i like itwinter beast: http://i497.photobucket.com/albums/rr34 ... uff016.jpg

you might like to take a look at the Shutt jerseys ... www.shuttvr.com definitely exhibit the "non whiffiness" of merino and hold their shape well. And IMO look pretty cool too"The only absolute statement is that everything is relative" - anon0

I'd assume race fit is tight fit. After all, walking gear is normally longer at the back than front these days and there isn't much racing there. My mtb jersey is much looser fit than my road jerseys but all are longer at the back.Faster than a tent.......0
