Look, look! I'm organising! And Ruby isn't even helping me!

It'll be at the Morpeth Arms, 58 Millbank, Westminster, London, SW1P 4RW.

Also, it'll be on a Friday. Yeah, I know I don't really have a full-time job, but I still don't care for hangovers in the office, and last year's event generated a hangover.

Once we've got a date sorted, we can go from there, food is probably a good idea etc.

If you can do several dates, then either a) don't respond to the poll or b) choose the date you'd most like.

4th or the 11th for me

18th is too close imo and I'm busy

Agreed, but thought I'd sling it in there anyway.

  • Yay - thanks for organising, Liv.

I can't do the 11th and would rather not the 4th as have all blacks vs barbarians on the 5th and am getting too old to go large on two consecutive days...

4th or 11th would be my preference too, went for the latter. November would just be wrong, and the 18th is more likely to other stuff.

    Good work LiT!

Would they be driven by Jeremy Clarkson and James Martin?

  • Well I'm looking good for just about any Friday in December except the 18th (day b4 mine and BJUK No.2 b-day). Oddly the holidays for my colleagues are amazingly spartan at this point so I might be a bit of a late/sweaty arrival - no doubt this will change closer to the time :-)

We've had a pretty decent summer.

I vote November. It's not like it needs to be near Xmas, and everyone will have loads of other things requiring their times as December draws on.

Only one I can't do for sure at the moment is the 18th december. But November makes so much more sense. FACT.

At least let the poll run until early November/a month before or until votes get into double digits....

Closing the poll/setting a date won't make the event happen quicker....

    I've yet to vote.

I'm not going. But considering I'll hopefully be commuting home that way I suppose it'll be rude not to...

November's already choc-a-bloc for me - including a sailing trip (brrr) and a trip to Brussels, AND my birthday -

So I'll vote for some time in December to fit in with everyone else - December 11th probably a happy medium between being close enough to feel Christmas-y without being so close that we're all "fuck Christmas, fuck everything!"

Why can't we do November, people? The 11th is a fine date but so many other things are going to come up for people, esp. work dos or family commitments they can't get out of that I'd be surprised if half the regulars can't make it.

And yes, this is not entirely unbiased as I can't make the 11th.
