FSA Omega Compact bars - space for accessories?

I'm thinking of changing the bars on my winter bike to the Omega compacts, but I need to fit my Garmin Etrex to it. Anyone know how wide the 31.8 section in the centre of the bar is before it starts to taper?
I'm still on 26mm bars on all my bikes since the OS bars I've looked at so far start to taper too close to the stem and I can't fit my gps.

Why don't you just get a Garmin mount for OS bars?More problems but still living....0

AFAIK there isn't a stem mount for the Etrex, but there is definitely one for OS bars as I have one.More problems but still living....0

One word - taper. I have both normal and OS mounts, but they need a flat section of bar.
Can't use the stem, there's a powertap cpu on there.

Just from looking at a picture of the Omega bars it looks like there's plenty of space for the mount before the taper.More problems but still living....0 -

I have these bars and I have measured them especially.
Its around 18 cm for the OS section.

Glad that it fits now. I couldn't even have it work for myself. I'm trying it out again later.
