A couple of my mates did it around a month ago and said it wasn't that good as there was more bike lifting than cycling they said it would make a better walk over a couple of days if thats any help.0

I mainly know the Fife Coastal path between Elie and Crail, and to St Andrews, so can't comment on the first sections at all. Elie to Fife Ness/Crail is fine for walking, and would be cyclable for some of it, but you will find many annoying sections to carry and push. Unless they've done some major pathwork, even walking the last section Crail/King's Barns/St Andrews is not easy, so you might need to cycle on the road between Crail and St Andrews (which isn't a very nice road to cycle on as it is not only quite fast for cars, with many nedds, but has v sharp corners which they cut and can't see you). (but there are smaller back roads you could take, a longer way round).
