Yes. Very good actually. I have the photochromic Radars with Black iridium/Persimmon lens which runs 42%>10% transmission. It's a very 'light' lens in that the Persimmon brightens things up but the Iridium takes the glare off. My partner has these lenses in her Flak Jkts n a pair of VR50 photochromic in another pair. Both v.nice lenses but expensiveM.Rushton0

I've got a pair of the Jawbones with the same Transition lenses as cougie and again very happy with them. From sunny days to overcast they're all I wear on the bike at the moment. I've clear lenses for night riding when the clocks change but can't see any other conditions where they wouldn't work.
As an aside........I've posted before that I've a mate who works for Oakley in the USA as an engineer. He told me that they created a pair with LCD tech in the lens and sensors in the arm that meant the lens shade changed in less than a second.
Downside was that when you rode through trees they flickered and caused all kinds of issues! Hence the gradual change in colour/density of shade is on purpose.0 -
Cool, thanks for the replies. Want something for changeable conditions, so was thinking of getting a pair of these bad boys...

Sounds like they could be just what I'm looking for...0 -
Does anyone know if you can get the Oakley Photochromix lenses in a prescription lens?
Sounds ideal for the weather up here - brilliant sunshine one minute and pitch black the next.Scott CR1 Team
Bitsa training bike. Bitsa this Bitsa that.......
I'd rather quit than buy from Halfords0 -
I've had a pair of Flak Jacket XLJ photochromics for a year or so, they're great. As per the other guys I've got some colourless lenses for riding in the dark, but other than those times the transitions are fine."The only absolute statement is that everything is relative" - anon0

Are Radar photochromics available as spare lens yet? Last time I looked into it they weren't and Oakley emailed saying they had no plans to sell them separately from complete glasses (which wound me up ). When I bought mine from their custom store I didn't have the option of photochromics and no chance I'm buying another set just for the lens.0

Oddly enough I've looked for Flak Jacket XLJ spare photochromics too in case I wreck mine (I haven't yet!!!) and I've never seen them so sounds like the "no separate ones" is consistent"The only absolute statement is that everything is relative" - anon0

I'm using the VR50 transitions at the moment and they're great. Not quite so good in really bright light as some other lenses, but it's worth it for the flexibility. Best thing about them is if you do rides that start in bright daylight and end just after sunset, you can start out with enough protection from the sun and still be able to see through them when you are getting home in the dusk...0
