    Who's that commentating with Hugh Porter? Is it Rob Hayles?

    On another note, why is the official giving them a finger count down of the last 5 seconds so useless!? Does he have a problem with his fingers, or is he unable to count? In which case why did he get that job?

    Pooley 11+ seconds down at the 1st time check.

    Well the commentators aren't on form. Porter's mixed up Armstrong with Pooley and minutes later Pooley's already down on Armstrong's split with some way to go up the climb but they were still asking if she could do something, optimistic stuff! And they call Kristen Armstrong "Karen".

    Armstrong looks to be miles ahead. Great ride by Longo.

    I'm not denying her incredible talent, just saying that I thought maybe Olympic scheme should be reserved to the person who won. Not a big deal in any case.

    Cervélo sold the frame in those colours, any Joe or Jeannie can buy it like that. Blame Cervélo. She buys her own kit, note the Edge front rim and the Carbonsports disc for example.

    She's amazing. Just amazing.

    And Emma did the best she could- she shouldn't be so disappointed, the course didn't suit her. Many, many years left for her.

    Longo won Gold in 1996.

    As far as I'm concerned she can wear the crown jewels if she wants. She is in a league of her own.

    I am totally aware anyone can buy it and that other riders have it. Simply saying that I wouldn't. People are SO defensive on this forum it is quite unbelievable.

    I guess like the rainbow stripes, once you've won 'em once, you're entitled to wear them for life. Like, Lance still has them on his sleeves, I think.

    Actually, you're not allowed to wear them at all - hence various gold highlights on Bettini and Sanchez in recent years.

    IIRC pascal richard (canny rider) had too pay the olympic org personally for the right to wear the rings? which he did wear on his casino jersey for a season I think.
