i find it really difficult to find a new rear shock for my scott fx2 g-zero bike which i brought second hand recently it has a dnm torch shock on it but the lockout has broken so im bouncing around like mad on it, can it be fixed or is it worth just buying a new shock and do i have to buy a shock with a spring on it or can i go for an air one like the rock shox bar 2.1? i dont really know the difference and if these can be locked out for road cycling and whether u can swap from oil and spring to air instead. i am a rear shock VIRGIN! can anyone actually recommend a good replacement shock for this bike? it has 170mm eye to eye but can take a shorter shock as it has two fixings and fixing diameter of about 22mm with bushes and pin is about 6mm and i weigh 15st. online bike shops seem reluctant to offer advice saying they need to see bike first but seein as i live out in sticks in south devon that is hard to do.

The eye to eye must remain the same. You need to find out the shock shaft stroke length too.0
