I was going to suggest the Stag Don't idea but you've beaten me to it!

How about a mountain biking weekend somewhere challenging like the Lake District or the Yorkshire Dales? Get yourselves really tired, have a few pints in the evening with some pub grub and you'll be ready for an early night!

I agree mountain biking is good. Did that for my mate (albeit he is a serious mountain biker) but 7 or 8 non-biking pals came and everyone of them really enjoyed it. We went to a trail centre at Laggan then stayed for a couple of nights in Aviemore (wouldn't recommend Aviemore to be honest)

I've never really been into the whole 'weekend-abroad-getting-blitzed-and-making-an-arse-of-yourself-and-wasting-a-fortune' thing.

Edinburgh at a weekend is one sad procession after another of staggering oafs and muffin topped women with plastic willies on their heads. Surely there is a better way of having a memorable time?

so they have the rugby every week?
