Winter tyres required

Hi, I'm currently riding on Racing Ralphs and Nobby Nics on my Cube. I know that these are summer tyres, therefore any suggestions on winter tyres for the british winter?

Im using a Kenda Nevegal DTC on the rear and a Nevegal StickE on the front. Awesome all rounders and they clear mud pretty well.0

I swap my rear Ralph for another Nobby Nic in winter. Not an outright winter tyre, but I manage, and I wouldn`t want to lose the speed on the harder bits of the very mixed surfaces I ride on,locally.2006 Giant XTC

I tend to run rampages in the winter, although if it gets really boggy then i'll slap a pair of trailrakers on.
The rampages seem to be pretty similar to the nevegals, and there is a soft compound version as well...0 -
Just switched to a 2.35 Nevegal stick-e up front and a 2.1 Nevegal dtc at the back.Eyes on the prize.0

I ran two nics last winter, they were fine for 95% of the riding I did. I am going to try Mud X's this winter purely because of mud clearance of the 2.25 nics in certain places I ride.0

I run Maxxis Meduses in the mud. The 1.9's really cut through the slop and gets good traction underneathCheers

I ran a Rampage front/Mud-X rear last winter, will probably use a Mud-X front and rear this year (nothing wrong with the Rampage, it just wore out and got binned). I have Trailrakers to but they're a bit sketchy IMO, especially on the front so would only use if riding in thick gloopy mud but I don't do that now I have a road bike0

Medusas are really good, they give you most of the grip of the really mud-specific tyres but they work better on regular surfaces. Personally I just use Nevegals though, they've got decent mudshovelling abilities, though even the 2.1 is too fat to easily cut through mud so they don't work as well as a proper mud tyre- on the other hand, they're better at everything else.
Not tried my new ExCavator on the rear in proper mud yet but first ride was good, basically like a Nevegal only more so- faster and grippier, or so it seems.Uncompromising extremist0
