record vs chorus vs centaur crank

I'm getting a shiny new audax frame from roberts in a couple of weeks and need a chainset to make it go. I've some bits and pieces already - older record levers, chorus rear mech, centaur cassette and chain (all 10sp).

I was aiming for a chorus 34/50 172.5mm crank as thats what I have on my road bike - its been great, However they cant be had for love nor money in 10sp - so my choices are carbon centaur, or get a record and fit it to the cervelo and move the chorus to the audax.

Question is - is there any difference bewteen the three cranks except 40g (or whatever it is)? I cant see any design or even material difference - all carbon arms with steel bottom bracket. Is the difference in the chainrings?

The record crank seems lumpy expensive at £360 or so; it would be nice if makes a difference....

I'd just keep an eye on e-bay and put an add up on here in the classifieds section, something is bound to turn up

Chorus or Record.

The chainrings on the centaur are shockingly poor. The anodizing flaked off mine after 6months summers riding.

mmm... same happened on my chorus chainrings, so thats not limited to centaur
