Gents, my Hifi for your perusal :)

Modifications over standard have been Shimano XT clipless pedals, ODI grips, FSA carbon bar, Bontrager XRL 70mm stem, Crank Bros XC Cobalt wheels and Highroller LUST tyres.....next up is a Hope QR seat clamp (gold to match the CB hubs!), Selle Italia SLR XC Gel Flow saddle (white) and a Thomson Elite seatpost. Any other suggestions? :)

  • Snap! Nice looking bikes we've got! Don't ride bad either!! Just out of interest how much did the wheels set you back?? Very good looking.

  • Nice bike, but those wheels are sick! :D
Wish they did those colours for the Iodines (and reduce the rrp by £300!)

Bought the wheels from Wiggle, £620 reduced from £850 IIRC.

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Being such a tart it was the looks of the Hifi pro that sold it if I was to be honest  It's a great looking bike and the few mods I've done have enhanced it nicely. Still can't get over the new wheels...they look the biz IMO, I still grab a look as I pass the shed every morning heading to the car

Latest mods now fitted, namely an Exotic carbon seatpost and a gold Hope QR seatpost clamp to match the gold hubs and spoke nipples.

Just the seat to go ;)

Well I am about at the end of my modding trail for a while, at least until I recover some more funds! New saddle is now on as I wasn't a fan of the Bonty and I really wanted an SLR XC. So, last pics for a while, we'll see what's next in the new year ;)

Now before the "Coming soon" post it looks one great bike but don't go and ruin it by transforming it into some bling machine. There's style and there's taste.

  • This should be interesting I think, with the mainly red and white colour scheme you've got going on, the addition of all that extra gold will either look really really sweet.....

    ..... or bIoody awful

Looking forward to seeing the pics.

  • Mate, your Hifi is looking mint!

If you don't mind, i'll take a few photos of my Hifi and post on this thread. I chose the gold route aswell, but have gone off slightly different.

    So far:

    Gold Hope Skewers
    Gold Hope seat clamp
    Fizik Gobi saddle
    Thomson layback seatpost
    Thomson stem
    Easton Monkeylite XL Bars
ODI white grips with gold lock on rings
    XTR shifters
    XTR front mech

I have to say i've been agonising on wether to get those Iodine wheels, but I ride the hell out of my bike and all my LBS have warned me off them. Apparently the bearings in them are shocking! Hope Pro II's in gold for me im afraid
  • It's looking really good, Adam 8)

I must admit I was a bit concerned about all that gold going on there, but now it's on it looks fantastic.

Thanks mate...you can certainly have too much gold but, like you, thinkimg I might have cracked it :)

But...still to do...are the brake hoses.

Anyone know of any gold cables?

Will give them a buzz on Monday. The gold cables I bought from The Woolly Hat Shop are for V brakes
