XT rear wheel/Hub locked

I have a 2009 Merida 96 3000D which I purchased in May this year, the bike has been great so far although I took it out today up around the Kilpatricks hills outside Glasgow which ended in me turning round and crawling home 1/2 way round.
The problem is the rear wheel hub Simano XT, this has locked completely on the disc side and left the drive side running free. I am hoping that as the bike is only 5mths old and this drive side hub has now damaged the frame would this be a warranty issue for Merida to replace the rear end of the bike. (I had to crawl back for 6 miles to a place where I could get a lift back) As the disc side was locked solid I had to keep the wheel skewers loose so the wheel was perilousely hanging in there, this is not ideal but was the only thing I could do.
Is there anything I can do myself to free this up? :?:

Sorry your post does not make sense.
where is the problem?
the hub?
the brake?
or the frame?
you mention/imply all of them.
But as it is 5 months old it is back to the shop with it as it could be a warrenty issue which if you have a play trying to fix it you will lose."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Thanks for the reply Nicklouse
The non drive side hub (the bit that attaches directly to the inside surface of the rear swing arm with the quick release lever on the opposite side is locked solid, it does not spin freely in any way shape or form. The brakes are unaffected in this problem.
I noticed an XT service runthrough on another website earlier that ran through how to service these hubs but needed a few tools that I am unfortunately short of.
I am taking it to the shop tomorrow afternoon as I do not have any cone spanners or a hub lock ring to remove the cassette to take the hub apert and attempt a service.0 -
If the axle is locked solid, then the driveside end cannot turn either! Unless the axle has snapped.0
