Brechfa - Raven or Gorlech?

We're going to Brechfa next saturday and are just deciding which trail to do.

We have done the Gorlech trail last year, thought it was amazing (I think it ended on a long black run?), just deciding whether to do the Raven this time or do Gorlech again.

All your opinions would be appreciated.

Also do both trails start at the same carpark.

Could we join some of each together to make an extended route?

Abergorlech trail was closed last time i was there a couple of weeks ago so check before you go.......if its open again now then you can do both from there. Both trails only take a couple of hours to do so u might as well do both if ur going to travel.

Where are my stabilisers?

The raven starts at the other car park doesn't it?? - at the Byrgwm car park (by the blue and green trails), isn't the gorlech (red) up the road?

yes it does, you can start at the Gorlech trail and do half of it then pick up the signs for the raven, do that and then return to the cp back on the Gorlech trail.........they were harvesting the trees a while ago so it might not be open again yet (officially).

Is that the best thing to do? How much of the Raven would we lose?

How many more km would that add?

I've just looked on the website and the Gorech trail seems to be closed:

It doesn't say the Raven is closed though, and yeah it does start at a different carpark.

I don't know for sure, but it should be updated on the website if the raven is closed too, so I'm guessing it's open. I've seen some sections of the raven closed before, but the rest open - it's possible to join different sections of it from the fire roads.
