Why is it that Trek are happy to advertise the weights of their super duper carbon race XC bikes that cost a fortune, but never seem to give the weights of their lesser siblings ??

For instance i can find all over the net the weight of the latest Top Fuel carbon 9.9 but cant find anywhere the weight of the Top Fuel 9 for which i am considering buying !

why is this ??

does anyone know the weight of this years Top fuel 9 ???

ta

Neil

If I ran a bike company my justification for not listing weights would be that they vary too much between different sizes and that there is no standardisation across the industry. If I list a size 19.5" with pedals, air in the tyres etc but someone else lists the weight for a "medium" without pedals and no air or tubes then it's an unfair comparison that could cost me sales.

Of course, if I listed the weight for one bike in my hypothetical range then I'd list them for all models using the same criteria throughout.
