ladies road bike

I am considering buying a road bike, having used a Specialised mountain bike for years. I have narrowed it down to the Specialised Secteur or the Trek one series - probably spending between £500 and £1000. I am confused by all the information, can anyone advise which would be better and is it worth paying more or should I just buy the basic model?

    Well Mrs Squill is due to receive her first road bike this week!

    She tried alot of bikes, and ended up with a MANS orbea. this was a much better fit than the WSD Giants and Treks, and their mens bikes.

    So dont just look at the WSD
