What in your opinion would be the response if the 999 ewitchboard got a call from a home owner in the middle of the night along these lines.

Someone's attempting to break into my house, and I have guns on the property.

Hopefully something along the lines of:-

"Sir, please get as close as you can to the suspect while holding your most powerful gun so as to lessen your chances of missing.Point it towards his head and fire at will. After ensuring he is dead please place one of your other guns after wiping off your prints, into suspects hands, having first fired a shot in the direction you approached him from. This is in order to fully justify your claim of self defence.
If you wouldn't mind, could you please ensure he has actually commited the burglary so we can actually clear up the crime and show another figure to appease this wanky Government and their performance indicators".
