Proper winter tyres would be bonty mud x and panaracer trail rakers. Pick one, you won't be dissapointed.

A tyre that can handle autumn, winter, spring, and be so good you might not bother taking it off for summer - conti rubber queens.

Whats the rolling resistance like on them?

Entering an adventure race and will be doing alot of road work through out the day but still need to cope with potentially muddy trails.

I ride with fit guys who ride various conti supersonics, and I keep up with them, so the rolling resistance has never bothered me too much. They're heavier then mountain kings, so they accelerate slower, but not devastatingly so. They were fine on all road and fireroad climbs in the Alps a few weeks ago, despite being run at about 25 psi constantly.
