  • How are you getting on with the Shimano R086's? I've recently gone over to clipless pedals (entry level Shimano SPD-SL's) and a pair of these - and aside from the fun of trying to clip in when you're in traffic and trying to get peddling (yes, I have pedalled along with one foot whilst shouting at my bike that I can't get the other foot clipped in!!) I'm really enjoying them so far. They seem really comfortable - not getting ant rubbing, sore spots or anything - in fact I don't even notice them at all.

Went for a 7 mile ride today with them and really enjoyed them, will be a few weeks before I really get used to them every day but early indications are very very good

  • I'm getting more and more used to them. Did 50 miles this weekend over 3 different rides, and then did my commuting ride in this morning. Seem to be getting slightly quicker at clipping in each time and when I come to a stop I've tried to ensure that the only thought in my mind is 'UNCLIP, UNCLIP'. Only had one slight panic when a car started to move and then stopped again - I started putting the power on, looked down to clip in and then looked up to see the car not moving - and had to hastily jam on the brakes and wrench my foot out of the pedals! :)

Today was much better but still struggling with my LEFT foot, really enjoyed the commute with them today.I know Jobysp had issues today clipping in but I think in time we will both be flying.
