Just bought an 09 Cape Wrath D24... thoughts?

I've just purchased the above bike from a local bike shop. I was contemplating the D27, but I couldn't get him down on price. I ended up going for the D24 for £475. Does this sound an ok price? I know I could've prob got it cheaper online, but he does free servicing, and will build / fit the bike to me.

Would the 27 of been noticeably better?

I'm a bit of a newb, and will use the bike primarily for road cycling, with the occasional mellow off road run... Will this bike suit?
