Cycling through National Trust Parks
Bit of a naive question here so bear with me.
I want to cycle through Calke Park in South Derbyshire, there are tarmaced roads all the way through it. Do i have to be a member of the National Trust to do this? There is a gate house where a thieving git takes £x off of non-members in cars. Would I have to pay?
TIA

I think it depends on the individual location. The National Trust are, in general, very cycle friendly and have links with many cycling organisations eg. using the national cycle network to link to their properties etc.
Many of the locations charge for parking and then have a separate charge to enter the house and/or gardens where applicable. In many cases, however, they don't charge for pedestrians and cyclist to enter the parklands that are attached to the properties. You may be able to get free access via gates other than the main entrance.
It's worth having a look at the National Trust website (www.nationaltrust.org.uk) or even giving the property a quick call to confirm.
Cheers,
