Can anyone recommend an inexpensive place to buy some Conti Rubber Queen USTs? Am thinking of taking the plunge for my winter tyres...will mainly be for south downs and north downs use. Reckon these are suitable? Also...2.2 or 2.4?
or other recommendations?

thanks - how do they corner? Would you recommend for both front and rear?0

I have them front and rear, but facing opposite directions. They corner well, although there are grippier tyres out there. They're a good middle ground between grip and quick rolling, if they do break away, it's predictable. They're also air tight and stay inflated with no sealant, although I do run about 50mm of Stan's in the rear one.
I run them on my Orange 5 which I ride fairly aggressively, but also do longer rides on it, like the 47mile Mary Townley loop, but I've used them at Innerliethen and Glentress too.0 -
Thanks again...
One just question. Where I ride there is a lot of clay. How do they shed mud?0 -
I was out last night in some thick gloop, the centres clear really well, but the shoulder tread hangs on to the mud a bit more. My mate has Maxxis Ardents and he commented how much his tyres were slipping on roots last night, but I didn't notice it with mine.
If you pump them you pump them up too hard, you will lose some grip, I tend to run mine at about 30PSi for shorter local rides and put them up to about 35PSi for all dayers!0 -
Brilliant...cheers. Do you run 2.2 or 2.4? And do you need loads of frame clearance for the latter?0

2.2s, I had 2.4 Mountain Kings before these and they're not much smaller. I couldn't wait to get rid of the MKs, terrible tyres!0
