Hi, Just wanted to get peoples thoughts on this bike. Its currently £800 and i think its quite a good deal at that price. I know its from halfords but the frame looks identical to that of the dalkiia which i have heard quite a good frame. I have been doing local tt the last 2 years with clip on bars and am looking to get better times next year on a budget.

    Can't really argue with it for £800!

    The only obvious weakness is the wheels (shallow and have heard only negative things about Alex rims), would you upgrade those or transfer from your road bike?

    I'd suggest spending £999 on a new bike won't make that much difference. What is you're current bike? What are the wheels on it? I'd suggest spending some money on some last year Mavic Cosmic Carbones or something similar; they're heavy, but would be far more aero that the Alexas on that Carrera.
