Road: 95 Trek 5500 -Look 695 Aerolight eTap - Boardman TTe eTap
Offroad: Pace RC200 - Dawes Kickback 2 tandem - Tricross - Boardman CXR9.8 - Ridley x-fire0 -
well ive just bought it for £799 and im pretty happy, the chain rubs on the big chain ring when in the smallest cog at the rear (its not the fron mech) taking it back to halfords tonight to get sorted.
Think maybe the wrong BB has been fitted, also the back brakes pretty sticky, it seems to be the internal cable routuing on the top tube where its sticking, ive checked the cables and its not them and the caliper has plenty of spring...
Once this is sorted im sure it's guna be great! (I hope) :shock:0 -
Not a good start, good luck mate hope it goes well. There is never redemption, any fool can regret yesterday...

Thinking of doing the same - I am 5'10" with an inside leg of 30" - and am "regular" in proportions. Any idea which of the 52 or 55cm frame will be the best fit. I have sat on the 52cm version - but dont have a feel for what is right when in the aero position0
-
Im 6ft and my girlfriends 5'9 and we're sharing the 55.
halfords took it in and im picking it up tues, hopefully should be ok.
The guy said that you cant use the small to rings at the back with the little chainring at the front, he said its quite common.... cant say ive ever come across it....0 -
Got mine today. Checked the Dalkiia website for sizing - 52cm good for me
Feels good - but legs a little tired from yesterday - so will have to wait for a proper test0 -
Warrior - where did you get it for £799? Didn't seem to be included in the 20% off on the Halfords website when I looked.0
-
Just a quick note on mine. The 20% is taken off when you try to buy on the website. They will not let you get the 20% off in-store
Weighed the bike - its about 9kg
Current opiion, just by looking at the parts - the wheels dont look that hot - and I prefer the ultergra kit on my Bianchi - but its not about looks is it (is it?)
Oh - those bar end shifters take a bit of getting used to after a modern road bike. Better get some practice in....0 -
from what i have heard halfords take the specs down so i think you would be better off buying from a independant bike dealership.Coveryourcar.co.uk RT Tester

I reserved online for £799 then went and collected it in store... It was in the shop for £999 but they never even questioned the £799... I asked about it and they said as long as you have the order code its all cool...
Bit of a bargain!0 -

Hey, for those of you already having one of the Viragos - do you guys know what kind of tyres Halfords put on the bike? Were they folding or wired? Cheers!
HumphUK - How is your experience with the bike after a week now? Hope your legs recovered so you could put some miles on it!0 -
I have recently bought the carrera virago tt, i was a bit concerned at first that it was carrera and it would fall about, but actually its an amazing bike really comfy and sram rival gears are great! unfortunately it is only in two sizes. The bike has the same frame as the DALKRA ONYNXX worth alot more, The vision tt bars are great much better than any 3t bars I have used. The wheels arnt great but I have upgraded to kinetic one k1 wheels worth £170 30mm rim and minimal spokes, not bad. I only do sprint triathlons but this bike has seemed to have knocked off a few minute on the cycle. Weighing 8.4kg is lighter than my old but and sure helps going up hills. I have achieved a great aerodynamic position and it feels great! I bought it in the same for £979 great buy for a carbon fibre bike, I was going to get a felt for 999 but its not carbon and has shimano 105 gears no wear near as good!0

I thought this was discontinued - where did you get yours?0 -
Hi all
Thought I would share a few things one year in
Regarding availability - it is a lottery with Halfords - on the website - off the website - back on....I noticed it dissapeared in thir last 20% off sale!
It took me a while to get used to the riding position - but now it is set up quite aggressively and I have no problems. For a while my legs were burning in new places - and I couldnt relax my upper body. The only negative for me is that when I am working hard I dont look forward enough - which saw me having my first accident while narrowly avoiding hitting a parked car! I love riding it when I am out alone - it adds a few mph. Riding in company is not so hot unless you keep on the brakes, and stretch for the gears.
The small frame is fine from me at 1.78 cm
I had to set up the gears - Halfords had two goes, both unsuccessfull.
It is comfortable, quick and stable.
I now have a boardman team carbon. I swapped the wheels and both feel better (??)0 -

If you go to halfords the shop and you can order it in for around £979. This bike is often sold second hand on ebay, when riders have given up the sport and only ridden a few miles! So keep your eye out!0
