Vuelta stage 17 *spoiler*
Again a completely flat stage, like yesterday. Interesting difference in speeds though, yesterday with a single rider berakaway just 32 km/h for most of the day, today 44 km/h, with a group of 5 away, with Martijn Maaskant and the TT-er Lieuwe Westra. A lot more work for the sprinters' teams
Last 18 km, just under 3 minutes advantage... a sprint still possible.

Gesink and Mosquera have been in a heavy crash. Especially Mosquera looks bad, with team mates pushing him0

2nd bad crash for Mosquera. I really hope they are both ok as they have provided a lot of excitement.Contador is the Greatest0

Clever ride by Roux, of the front all day but he played his best card in the final kilometre.
TV suggests Gesink and Mosquera have left the race? ?
EDIT: the missing climbers are safe and well and on the GC.0 -

Apparently not.Oh dear...
I'm sad to inform Gesink's injury is worse than it appears. The hole in his knee is so big, you could actually see the insides. If he can continue the Vuelta is unsure"Science is a tool for cheaters". An anonymous French PE teacher.0 -

Both Mosquera and Gesink are in hospital now getting checked out..Contador is the Greatest0

Gesink will start tomorrow, according to the team website rabosport.nl. There were two open wounds, one very deep, there has been surgery in the hospital, but he'll start tomorrow. It won't heal during the Vuelta, so I guess he will look like Vinokourov in his last TdF.0

That last photo is a bit special.
BTW, Eze has been quoted as saying "the helmet has saved my life"0 -
Did you see the damage to it? I know he had a replacement brought to him by a team mate so it must have been bad.Contador is the Greatest0
