Would you be able to recommend a pair after having used them for a winter? Don`t want to spend a fortune.
Many thanks, Julian

Have just purchased a pair of these:

not the cheapest, but I find the gore stuff good quality, waterproof and packs up really small for when they're just something else to carry with you.
Have only ridden with them once in the wet and they were great, long legs as well so my ankles stayed dry too!

good god no...
seriously, just wear a pair of lycra cycling shorts. Much more comfy.
Basically if you're cycling for 30 mins you're going to either get wet from the rain or wet from boiling alive inside your waterproofs. Rain or sweat, either way you need a shower at work!
3/4 lengths work quite well but again you still get wet.
As for fabric, generally eVent is more suitable for commuting than gore-tex, as it is much more breathable for only a small drop in waterproofness.0 -

In winter? Are you barmy?
Having said that, I would just wear a pair of fleecy bib tights - if you get wet your legs won't freeze, as (once you're warm) it'll just feel like a wetsuit.0 -
Not sure if these would do.

I have a pair for running in and they are good. Not plasticy next to your skin and have a good stretch.0 -
Ronhill Bikester DXB and waterproof trousers from Aldi.
Torrential rain earlier this week. 40 min into work, kness were damp but not wet unlike my gloves and jacket.0
