Just a quick one to get a different view on this decision!! I'm upgrading from my old GT aggressor to one of the above mentioned bikes. Work has finally got its a**e into gear and sorted out the bike to work scheme, which i have been pushing for ages. I commute around 10 miles a day and hit my local trails (Hamsterly forest) on a weekend. The Scott will maybe be more suited to the commute but only has a tora fork and shimano brakes. The specialized has avid elixer stoppers and a recon fork. Have i just answered my own question? :?
