Hi,
I've read the latest lights review in the current magazine and I get the feeling the authors don't read this forum. How they can do a review of front lights and not include a P7 or a Lumicycle LED4 is beyond me. Anyway rant over....
I've got a Smart half watt and a Cateye L1000 (not the 1100) and I was looking to replace the Cateye because I have to change the batteries on it far too often.
I was hoping to find out, from the review, if the Blackburn 4 was better than the Smart and I still have no idea!
So, what is the best rear light for someone who lives in the middle of nowhere, the Smart, the Blackburn or the Cateye 1100?
Pete

Hi Pete
If you are changing batteries a lot, then do what I did and get some rechargeable's so you can changes them but I guess that is part of the problem.0 -
I also have 2 lights at the back so one goes, I at least have one.
Not had both go at the same time.0 -
Hi
I do use rechargeable batteries in the Cateye but I find that the connections are not as good as with Duracell so the lights go out even though there is lots of charge left. Strangely for the first week this does not happen... which is why I assume it's a connection issue.
I'd still like to know which is the best light of the three?

For someone cycling where there is no street lighting I'd always recommend the Blackburn Mars 4. I use it and we sell a lot of them in my shop to both road and MTB riders. In unlit areas you want to be noticed as early as possible by cars coming from behind and 1 watt of LED flashing in the face of drivers certainly does that.0
