I was reading an article in this months mag (can't remember if it was WMB or MBR)
It showed you how to go tubeless with a non tubeless rim by cutting open an inner tube and seating that against the wall of the rim
Has anyone tried it and if so, is it any good?? Would like to run tubeless but my rims are not compatible

Yup worked a treat for me with a mavic 719 rim. Also used the same technique to use non tubeless tyres on a tubeless rim.0

there's a guide here -> clicky
It's not without its frustrations. Getting the bead to sit up on the rim the first time is the biggest pain. This can work straight away or it can take hours. I've done 3 wheels this way; 1 went 1st time, 1 needed some convincing (steel beads are more of a pain apparantly) the third was a pig and I had to resort to compressed air, which sorted it out pretty quickly. The last one was on an old and dented rim though, which may have been part of that story.
CO2 canisters or compressed air definitely worth it. Not necessarily vital, but easier nonethelessEverything in moderation ... except beer
Beer in moderation ... is a waste of beer
If riding an XC race bike is like touching the trail,
then riding a rigid singlespeed is like licking it
... or being punched by it, depending on the day0
