Hi there,
I have just bought a Scott Speedster S40 2009. It has Alexrims Race 28 pro fitted as stock and the back one has a step on the braking surface where the rim is joined, but the front is smooth. Is the step on the rear normal for pinned rims, or is it a duff. The shop that sold it to me, said they are all like this and will get better as the brake block wear the rims down. The Alex web site says the rims are CNC machined and coming from an engineering background this would suggest the joint shoul be flat and flush. I have asked the shop for a new wheel and they sent one out and it is the same. Am I wasting my time pursuing a perfect replacement, or is this what I can expect from an Alex pinned rim?
Please help with advice, royc0. Rolling Eyes
