Wheel Upgrade

Im looking to spice up my 2007 Stumpjumper and think the best upgrade would be to look at the wheels, currently they are standard spec specialized stout on DT swiss 4.2 rims up front and deore hub on DT swiss 4.2 out back.
Can anyone confirm it they think this is the best upgrade for the bike or should I look elsewhere- also what budget should I allow for if I do go with the wheel upgrade. I guess Hope pro 2 hubs would figure in the equation but what rims- should I look at UST rims like Stans etc will this level of upgrade really improve the performance of the bike?
I guess someone will ask about the type of riding I do- generally XC with little droped etc around the downs.

To see a noticable change in weight you are going to have to spend a fair bit - the rims and spokes on your build are light anyway.
Hope hubs, XTR, DT240 on Stans Rims will drop weight in those areas, and double butted spokes ie DT comp. DT Revs if you are not too heavy a rider.0 -
