As the header says, has anybody used either Specialized Enduro Sport tyres or Maxxis Cross Mark tyres ?

Rutland cycles are selling the Specialized off at the moment for £14.99 for a pair !!!
I have searched the forum and other sites for a decent review but have come up blank.

A bike shop recomended the Maxxis Cross Mark as a good all rounder with very low rolling resistance but the review on here of it is not good.

Any comments would be very helpful.

CrossMarks are great on dry, buff trails but they are not all-rounders. I've used one on the back with a High Roller XC up front and it was a good summertime combo but not one I'd use on wet/loose ground.

  • I rode a crossmark on the rear in Afan. Found it suprisingly grippy for a quick tyre. However, the sidewalls are like paper and the thing last one morning before the sidewall gashed out.

In fairness to maxxis, they replaced it FOC and their service was excellent.

I've riden enduros before, they pretty good. Good volume, good puncture protection and good grip.

Can you remember what the rolling resistance was like on compact surfaces (fire tracks, cinder paths, tarmac etc) ?

Slower then mountain kings, but not hugely. And mks are pretty fast anyway.

Try Maxxis Monorails, fitted them to my bike and they glide on and grip like hell even in the wet.
