Attending a Phil Price rally school day as a spectator on 3rd October. Much as I'd love to stand and watch all day, I'm thinking about taking my bike down and going out for a few hours, in order to preserve my sanity
I don't know the area at all so has anyone got some suggestions on decent roads/routes that I can go and get battered by. Postcode is LD7 1TD.
Cheers

It doesn't get any easier, but I don't appear to be getting any faster.

Parts of this are among my most favourite rides anywhere.
I have not done all of these roads, but most.
Yuo can make a 60mile day there and back. It doesn't sound much but there are lots of hills.
I have indicated a trip to the viaduct because I missed it twice and will be going back to see it.Raleigh Eclipse, , Dahon Jetstream XP, Raleigh Banana, Dawes super galaxy, Raleigh Clubman

Cheers priory.
Was also thinking of heading out to Hopton Castle, and then looping back via Rockhill and Felindre - what do you reckon??It doesn't get any easier, but I don't appear to be getting any faster.0 -
I only know the a and b roads south to knighton there. the b roads past hopton castle are to be preferred, or the minor roads if you like hills. The b road S past hopton castle and right through weston avoids a bigger hill on the a488.
There is nothing to eat at hopton castle so you might need a sandwich and drink. Knighton has at least shops.Clun has a cafe.
There must be someone here that knows the area better than me, I have only passed through a few times on tour.

I see what you mean about felindre. I looked at it in the map a while ago and thought the b road looks like a nice long downhill. Getting there from HC might take a while , though.
I would put it into bikehike.co.uk and get a profile.Raleigh Eclipse, , Dahon Jetstream XP, Raleigh Banana, Dawes super galaxy, Raleigh Clubman
