Rear cassette change.
I need advice on whether to change my cassette or leave it as it is, I`m running a 11-24 rear cassette and 39 -53 chain ring, I commute to work which is a 25 mile round trip one day off three days on takes about 1 1/2 hrs , but have found my legs feeling like lead on the third day and sore,I`m 46 and reasonably fit, and do all the stretching but am standing all day
there are several hills, not large takes about10 min for the first one 2 - 3 min to get up the rest.
when I do my weekend ride usually around 35 - 50 miles My legs feel fine
, i was thinking of changing to a 13-27 or 12-26 to try to get a 1:6 ratio in third
,assuming i could get a 24 in third as I don`t use first as hills don`t warrant it, but would like to have the option of having 1:4 ratio or 1:5 ratio for when I go to wales where the hills do warrant it, as I found to my cost on a 20% gradient out of conwy and on return trip using my present cassette any help would be appreciated,am running shimano 105 group set.
cheers

Well the cheaper option would be to fit a 26 or 27 cassette.
The other option is a compact 34 / 50 chainset which would cost a little more but give you a good spread of gears.
I have a compact 34/50 and a 12/27 cassette and i find it excellent for hills and on the flat.He is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy !!0
