So somehow, when I was recabling my bike today, I managed to break the wee cable guide lip off the screw on my rear derailleur (dura ace 10 speed) which holds the gear cable.

I am still able to attach the cable and index the gears ok but its not as handy. Does anybody know where I can get a hold of a spare one of these? Any body else had issues with these brittle things?

  • If you go on to the Shimano website, there will be an exploded diagram of the rear mech. Each bit has a part number. If you get that then ask your LBS if they can order a replacement. If you're lucky they may have some from and old mech they've replaced

Thanks topdude, that would be great, you truly are a topdude! Was just checking out a few photos of the 105 rear mech and it looks the same as the dura ace mech (hard to say for definite)

    I'll PM you now
