Really sorry, to 1 particular cyclist.

If you were cycling along Littlehampton seafront, last monday, I'm sorry, on behalf of my wife and 3 year old daughter.

They happened to be out practising riding with a child seat.

My competitive Wifey spotted you in front, and set off in hot pursuit. (Neither of us have done much cycling since the kids arrived).

Sadly for me, her catching you isn't what I'm apologising for.

I'm really really sorry that when overtaking my daughter pretended to 'zip up' before raising her fingers and pointing skywards, al a Alberto. (she enjoyed watching Le Tour).

Sorry :(

  • hahaha - your daughter sounds superbly well brought up. If you get scalped by cyclist with child seat then you deserve a bit of stick.

We got her the full work, 'pink princess stabilisers' etc, early July.

So her and big bro were racing each other round the park only stopping to zip up and point.
Naturally it's been a standing joke ever since, I guess the only person who wouldn't laugh is the poor fella they overtook.
  • ..Just came across a deleted Twitter from last week ..'hey Littlehampton...come and join me for a ride along the seafront..it'll be fun'....

I didn't find it that funny at the time - I thought she was giving me the finger.
I was out on my winter hack bike, an old Colnago C50 with the old Zipp 440's on that's my excuse anyway.

In my experience don't mess with the child seats - anyone who can lug a 2 year old round the (very hilly) streets of edinburgh undoubtably has thighs of steel under that calm exterior.

I love doing the blue root at Llandegla on the singespeed with one of the kids on the back, shames lots of people!

The only issue is remembering they are there, "may" have had to stop a couple of time to go back & pick up wellies
