i took my bike over to cannock but the gears kept on jumping so i took it back and the bearings had gone it the back wheel so had to replace it with the wheel out of my dads avalanche as its his second ride over his trek ex8 so i cant really report on the gears but will take it out for a spin tomorrow around my local area and then will post something up about the slx gearing imo i hired a remedy last year that has slx gearing and it was really sweet shifting
ive just got to save up to get a new rear wheel but im going to saas fee snowboarding so thats taking most of my limited funds at the momant
the forks and front wheel are so much better than the standard crap that was on there

Looking good. I do wish Goodridge would do the 'blue' cable liner thingamybobs in different colours though. Granted they are very good at keeping the crap of your cables and everything running smoothly, but I find the blue can spoil the whole colour scheme on a bike. Yours would be better with white ones (I would prefer black ones). There's obviously a hole in the market here...0

yer i know im tempted to cover it in white tape but dont know what it will look like0

I just joined this site due to Coxy17’s incredible Avalanche build. I'm in the process of upgrading my 2010 Avalanche 3.0 disc which I bought it from the LBS after selling my motorcycle (we just had our first kid and needed a safer hobby) so I decided to rekindle my old love for bikes. Laying out $550 for the 3.0 was easier than $1200 for the expert should I have decided that I wasn’t into it, so I’ve been upgrading it since.
The final step is upgrading from the 8 speed to 9 and is mainly due to the brand new Shadow XT derailleur a friend gave me for a song. Believe it or not I can’t locate the diameter of the seat tube so I can change out the front derailleur. Would anyone know if it takes a 31.8 or 34.9? Still have to pick up a new crank (threw on an Alivio for the time being; step up from the OEM Suntour) and cartridge.
Please reply with the rear der. Specs and I’ll post pics soon.
I’m also rebuilding a 1995 GT Tequesta to ride around the city. The blue/ yellow team colors bring me back to the days of riding bmx bikes in the 80s
