New to discs so i'm on a bit of a learning curve at the moment. The front brake is rubbing slightly and it looks like the caliper isnt centered over the disc. According the the manual i should be loosing the two fixing screws, applying the brake and tightening the screws back to center the caliper. I've also removed the wheel and pushed both pads fully back to amke sure one wasnt jammed slightly. Hasnt sorted the problem as the disc still sits too far to the right in the caliper and brushes against the right pad.

Help me please learned ones!

The manual is pretty much spot on for what you've done, have you checked if your disc mounts are faced? Bear in mind there's suposed to be a little bit of rub on new pads.

I bought the bike 2nd hand so the pads are wonr in ok by the looks of things.
[NOOB ALERT] Not sure what you mean by faced

The discs probably only a mm or so off center and there are the two washers on the bolts which attach the caliper. Is it possible these should be on the other side of the caliper, acting as spacer instead of sitting next to the bolt head?

With the spacers I'd say give it a try, it'll be pretty apparant if the wheel isn't going to fit :)
Facing means that any paint on the mounts has been taken off.

Swapped them round and it shifts the disk to the other side

Not to worry, it's only a slight rub. Might put it into the bike shop for a service until i get my head round these new parts. Last time i worked on mtb's, V brakes were revolutionary!!!

In that case, fit new pads and follow the alignment instructions again.
