Hello all. Need a bit of help. Im really struggling to to get a grip of low speed drop offs. When I ve got some speed with me im fime on 4-5ft drops no problem at all and do them regular on my local route. But found a section earlier this week of a couple of 4ft ish drops that have to be done at almost walking pace. Found them on monday and been back 3 times this weel and spent hours just sessioning these drops. I just cant seen to get my weight back far enough or long enough to have a controlled landing with both wheels. Generally landing on front first, which aint pretty. Ive dropped my saddle a bit lower, pumped the bike into the root that is infront of the drop, rolled over the edge and given the crank half a turn to lift the front. What am i doing wrong???

When I do a slow speed drop like that I do a sort of power wheelie off the edge i.e. push down hard with the pedals at the last minute to lift the front wheel a little then you land with wheels together.

Mmm, there's actually nothing wrong with landing a little bit nose first, as long as you're doing it under control... If you're tipping forwards as you drop, that's bad though, sooner or later you'll overrotate...

Been tipping a bit. Which i dont get because i had my weight fully at the rear. On one attempt so much so my backside hit the rear wheel when i landed. But the front wheel still landed first.
