Of course you are entitled to your opinion, however misguided you appear to be.
Here is why OHMSS is best:
1. Best Bond girl - Diana Rigg
2. Best Bond song - We have all the time in the world by Louis Armstrong
3. Most stupid plot - Telly Savalas as Blofeld, cutting off his ear lobes and using a group of allergic international babes to poison the world.
4. Best ending - Because it's unexpected and un-Bond.
Give my sympathies to your girlfriend...
Steve
Best Bond girl - no argument there, Diana Rigg was just in another class altogether
Best song - you're probably right for the feem choon, although I think FRWL goes 1 better by playing "007" during the action sequence at the Russian Embassy
Most stupid plot - Yes, but FRWL had the best, most realistic fight scenes and the most tension and a very believable trio of villains.
Best ending - OHMSS did have a good ending, but FRWL - the shoe in the hotel room. How can you top that?
The Skype thing was cancelled in the end, so now I'm nice and calm ready for my girlfriend to get back. She doesn't need sympathy - I'm a fantastic boyfriend.
By the way, have we not had this discussion before? I'm sure we have.0 -
Mr Finch,
Yes, I think we have had this discussion before.
I found the ending to FRWL a bit of a let-down really. I do like the villains though and the action's good. Each to his own, I suppose. As for OHMSS, Lazenby in a kilt is just daft, as is Joanna Lumley's character thinking he's gay and the stereotypical Lancashire lass with the chicken allergy. I also like the setting; in the snow and mountains. And the fact that Diana Rigg needs a husband to "dominate her"...Head Hands Heart Lungs Legs0 -

But then who hasn't? It's classic pub conversation material, likewise the old debate about which incarnation of Dr. Who is the best (See Al Murray's Book of British Common Sense for pointers).

Better now - Aero bars that you buy from bike shops. Improved TT performances without spending a fortune or having to own a dedicated TT bike; prices have - relatively speaking - come down since Greg Lemond first made them fashionable.
Better then - Aero bars that you buy from sweet shops. Why can't you get the orange flavour one any more?

Have you ever read any of the books? Let's just say Ian Fleming's views veer between old-fashioned and slightly terrifying.
In Goldfinger, Pussy Galore is a lesbian, until James Bond "converts" her.0 -
Better then: Dog Turds (available in white)
Better now: Opportunities for Existential Ennui.
