Hi, as the title says, bought a GT Aggressor XCR in April and love the bike, but experiencing far too many flats, the tyres that came with the bike are Maxxis Ignitor but even thorns are penetrating the tires and puncturing the tubes....i've just bought a pair of PanaRacer Fire FR's in 26 x 2.4, the ones with the Red Stripe around the tire wall, love the colour, should match the bike well, will be fitting them tonight and hoping to receive less flats.

However, judging by reviews on the net, the Maxxis seems to be the better tire?

My old Marin i had for 14 years and had one flat in the whole 14 years!

both are considered good all rounders - I'd have thought the panaracers were more popular though.
  • Hello
I have the panaracers ,great tyres ,had no problems ,was going for the red rim ,but changed my mind after reports that after a while the red turns a pink colour .great for the feminine in you ,but not for me ,lol

Hi Guys, replaced both tyres and whilst at it i also replaced the innertubes with the downhill heavy duty innertubes - anybody else used them? They are a little more expensive but there is no comparison between them and the standard tubes, the downhill ones are so so thick they feel 4-5 times as thick!

Here is a picture of my bike with the new tyres on it:-

Can't believe you haven't changed those pedals yet! They are the worst pedals I've ever used as one side has no grip - took me 1 ride and numerous pedal slips before I ordered some MG1s.

Yeah i know what you mean mate, when i first got my bike i thought i was imagining it about the one side grips and the other doesn't quite so well, until i looked closely at the pedals and realised that one side has sharper spikes than the other, what is all that about? :?

I won't be going clipless though on the MTB, i like the pedals in Neil's photo above, they look quite nice..might get a pair of them if they don't break the bank.

Hi Neil, i'll be looking at that seat then in a few years time as i'm 37

I'll be getting those pedals at the end of the month, i don't mind that type of cost, but can't justify £80.00 or even more on pedals as you can pay for some out there.....

£17.99 is more than sensible in my book.....and the best bit is they look really great! Will suit my bike a lot better than those others i have, and also will be more practical 'i hope' as the ones i have are two sided, one side is a 'little' grippy and the other side is useless....

Also - what model Cannondale is that you have? I really like it....

Hi Neil, £300.00, thats a brilliant price, how much do you think you've paid out on extra parts on top of that?

I was thinking you were going to say the bike cost you between £1500-£2000, as it certainly looks like a bike within the price range, although depending on how much the extra parts have cost you, i may be right! :)
