There I was in the garden putting my chain back on my bike after cleaning it.

Just about to clip it together and the door goes (it's postie with junk mail) so I've let go of the chain and one of the missing links (aptly named I might add) goes flying off.

So off I go around the garden in saarch of this miniscule item for a good hour and a half by which time Iv'e resigned myself to losing it and decided to go and aget a new chain.

back outside I went to pick up my cleaning stuff and there it was glistening in the sun.

I jumped for joy and punched the air. If I didn't find it I'd of had to spend £30 on a new chain

you do realise you could have just bought a new split-link if you hadn't found it, right?

Yes, and you can still fix a chain without a quick link. Just need a chain tool.
