I have always used superstar and never had any probs.

At like 5.00 a set you cant go wrong, and if you are not happy they will return them... USED

I always use avids but I ride with someone who uses superstar - even though the pad material has fallen off from the backing plate a couple of times. Others have had the same problem http://www.bikeradar.com/forum/viewtopi ... rstar+pads. Apparently down to a bad batch of materials, and to be fair, superstar replaced them without any question. I'm usually as tight as a gnat's chuff, however, I'd rather not take the risk with brakes.

Got the Superstar Kevlar one's on my front Juicy 3's. Excellent once bedded in which took a couple of hours riding. Scream like a banshee when wet but i'm well impressed for the price.

Dunno how long they'll last cos i've only had em on a week.

About 2 years ago they did have the problem of pads coming off.

    But they have fixed this.

    1. full money back
    2. they are 10.00 cheaper than manufacture ones.

I must have had 5 sets, and they have all been great, and so have superstar.

All brake pads squeel when wet?
  • I bought 4 sets from superstar for cheaper than 1 set of shimano ones... and the Superstar pads are great... look exactly the same, work exactly the same, cost less.
  • I've just fitted my first pair of these!

I haven't used them yet, so can't vouch for or against them, but for £6.50, great!

I can't believe OEM pads are so vastly different to warrant a £10 increase!

Just a quick note more than anything, I suspect the SS comp. sintered pads to be a harder compound than most OE stuff. I have found braking power on OE sintered Hope pads better than the SS ones. The SS ones last aaagggeeesssssss, but my Hope ones are lasting pretty good...

I've been using Superstar kevlar pads for about the last three months and even with Ashima Airotors rotors they're still going strong.

Yes, they can be a little noisey but name a brand that aren't.
