    Black cleats are fixed, which means your foot is not allowed any degree of rotational float when you are clipped in. These are best avoided unless you really know what you are doing when you set them up or you could end up with serious knee damage.

    Grey give a small amount of float and red give a bit more. I have never found any loss of drive efficiency when using cleats with float, and on the few occassions I have been able to identify which pro riders use I have never noticed fixed cleats.
  • thanks....i have grey at the moment and they seem ok, will stick with that then i think!
  • I believe:

    Black cleats: 0% float
    Grey: 4%
    Red::9%

    Grey are standard.
