heading there in a week or so....am currently running conti raceking ust's and was happy to stick with them. And still may be.
However....likely to be damp there. Are they suitable? Or should i change just the front for more grip or both? I washed out yesterday...front sliding away from me?
What would people recommend in Tubeless? I like the speed of the racekings...but with winter on the way I feel I could be making trouble for myself by keeping them!

Around the Afan trails Racekings should be fine as it is all well draining rock bed. For winter it just depends on what terrain you will be riding normally.0

I went there last weekend and did the W2 trail (what a trail) with a set of Maxxis Highrollers on. They did the job perfect. l didn't feel like I lost grip at any point during the day!2007 Merlin Malt 40

I've done Whites in the pouring rain on Racing Ralphs and it was fine, it drains really well up there and there's loads of grip.0

they should be fine, you dont really need loads of tread grip @ Afan cos there nothing really steep its more rocky than muddy so a softer compound works well.
personally i dont like riding with anything smaller than 2.2 as it just doesnt corner as well.Dont look at it-ride it! they are tools not f*cking ornaments

yup pretty much what the others have said. The terrain is very rocky and well draining. You won't see many (if any) puddles of water or mud.
If you're happy with the performance of your tyres on wet rock then stick with them you'll be fine. otherwise the highrollers are a good choice.0 -
I did whites level in the pouring rain with Conti explorers and they worked fine.0

Nevegals i've found are superb at afan/glyncorrwg as like most say it is mainly wet rocks however some areas especially around w2 and whites level dop have 'muddy' sections and its quite a gloopy clay and the Nevegals were fast and cleared the mud there was very fast indeed**2009 Trek Remedy 8**

I was out riding the Penhydd Trail yesterday and you would never know it had been raining on and off for the last week or so, it was quite dry up there. I use Panaracer Trailrakers for my usual trails at QECP but they are not really needed at Afan0

I've done Whites after a solid week of pouring rain and it was still dry!You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
I know the bike shop at the trail centre takes of the conti tyres from new bikes and sells them cheap (£10) as they replace them with something with a bit tougher sidewall.
i used nevegals and ripped a sidewall out on the wall. other than that - they worked great for me.0
