I was beginning to notice that, have they recently passed some sort of legislation allowing gold conversion companies to advertise on the telly? Its nearly as bad as those bluddy bingo adverts.
    "Oh I've won 20p!"
    - Lovely, now go spend some time doing slightly more productive. I mean honestly, in this modern day and age - what would you do with 20p!?

I know what you mean, the adverts for cashing your gold in are just pathetic though, and nearly as annoying as dfs - 'what the sale is f#-king all about'

'I'll tell you what it's about you incongruous, annoying, little.... '

I thought the least you could put in a fruit machine these days were pound coins?

No, the price of gold has dropped for the past few months (until these adverts started pushing it back up). Prior to the temporary drop, there had been 5 years of massive growth in the price of gold. Basically, they're trying to get it off you now fairly cheaply (they'll offer you below market price too), gambling on the fact that the price will rise again and they can sell it for profit.

If you sell your gold to these people, you may as well just write me a cheque. You'll still be losing money, but at least I'll send you a nice card to say thank you.

Its a shame our own Goverment decided to sell off our gold pre-price increase.

They made £2b, whereas at todays prices it would have been circa £5b

Now there are golden hills, I can't dig them!

That would make for an interesting book (takes pen to paper...)
