So i got a mongoose ritual on sunday with no stock components and it's quite a nice frame, made from cromoly, not the lightest frame ever but it looks cool and rides well. I've already added a half link chain, new tyres and grips and a new brake since i got it and i'm planning on new wheels (white rims black hubs), pedals (white), stem (green) and bars (white) for a cool colour scheme.

Anyways, photos and specs, let me know what you think:

my 'goose recently suffered a crack on the left hand seatstay on the weld around the disc tab and into the tube Luckily though i've had it fixed and they brazed a gusset onto the disc tab, good times. Now let's see how long it lasts! I also bought a new halo tornado on spindoctor rear wheel in white and took the raceface evolve dh cranks off my patriot and put them on there, way better than the shitty truvativ hussefelt things that were on there. Waiting for the money to buy the matching front wheel need to cut that steerer tube down too...

cheers, just need the front one to match

and because i didn't pay them to! Plus:
    1. it doesn't look that bad
    2. i don't really care anyway, the rest of it is scratched to hell
    3. i'm thinking of having it resprayed or buying a new frame anyway

Mechanical disks all the way for Jump bikes (easy maintenance you see ;) )

And they stop just as good ;)

Lovely build, I used to have an 06 one, loved it!

i just prefer hydraulic, the lever action feels nicer.

and thanks :) they're good frames, though i'm thinking of eventually replacing it with an NS suburban frame.

I wouldn't bother, it's no better. the Rituals are made of 4130 Sanko tubing, totally bomproof and have gorgeous lines.

If it were me, I would send it to Argos Racing, or Bob Jacksons and get a professional respray (£60 from BJs) and they are top specialists.

Ebay do some wicked 'goose decals to go on too.

I'd go blue on blue, or green on green to match your build. wiith the frame slightly darker than the decal.

I wouldn't say bombproof! Note the crack in the chainstay I had to have repaired ;)
And I specifically took the mongoose decals off because I didn't like them :P I'm definitely thinking about a refin though, either in white or a slightly brighter shade of green to match the seat.

You could have just had a bad build, thats all. They are very strong.

thanks :D i've not seen too many bikes with a similar colour scheme so i'm really liking it!
(you have NO idea how hard it is trying to find green bike parts, especially ano green! Red, blue, gold is fine! but green, it's bloody difficult haha. That's actually a bmx stem ;) )

  • Very nice bike, I really like the look of these.

Nearly bought an 06 Ritual frame myself a while ago, but ummed and ahhed about it too much and missed out.

Couldn't justify one now I have the STP but, that said, if I see a cheap one again.... :D
Less internal organs, same supertwisted great taste.
